How is this not considered trimmed???

Sorry if this is someone's auction on here, but I've seen this a couple times on graded cards from 1952 Topps.

1952 Topps Berra

Just trying to educate myself a bit on this. The top right looks completely trimmed and very noticable. It's more of a question as to how it got holdered. Am I missing something?? Too bad, its a great looking lower grade card otherwise

Currently collecting PSA graded:

1991 & 1992 Fleer Pro Visions
1952 Topps

No idea, looks pretty obvious from my non-expert eye. Is it possible factory cuts could be that off on the 52s?

trimmed or miscut, tighter grading standards should have rejected it.

    Agreed! Looks trimmed to me.
  • I know PSA will grade or authenticate trimmed cards, but only high worth or important ones. Even then, it is still marked that way in the flip.

As for a factory cut this way, I can't imagine a grader making that assumption because of the location/angle/etc. However, I saw another PSA graded 1952 Topps Rizzuto recently sold from a very reputable seller that looked this same way. It had an angle trimmed look in one of the corners. I asked the seller about it, but the card sold before I got an answer. Maybe it did happen at the Topps factory then.
