Been up a couple days but I didn't see it posted here; go get educated!

Only 3 coins worth bidding on!

As with CRO, I too was surprised that the 12 star Nova Con counterfeit sold for what made it likely the bargain of the sale (too the extant that a $7K coin can be called a bargain, of course). Compare it to the bungtown counterfeits in the Connecticut and New Jersey series, which are high five figure coins.

I said we bid on 3, not that there were only 3 worth bidding on. We always have to make choices, especially in a sale like this where many of the coins we liked best were 6 figure items. Also, Heritage's sale in January will contain examples of many of these same types, and so the notion of buying some for stock now seemed riskier than it would have been otherwise.

John Agre is truly one of the great numismatists and dealers
of our time. He continuously studies his field ( pre- federal coinage )
and then shares his knowledge. He also gives valuable insight
to the current happenings within our hobby. Very few other
dealers do so, especially on his level. Thanks.

I loved the article and especially valued Agre's insight on early American coinage.
