New picture setup......

Found a lens that came from a rear projection TV. Coupled it with my Canon point and shoot to
see if I could get some close ups...These are the results and I'm pleased!

    Wow, Bob! That is an original idea if I ever heard one. Nice going. Whenever I see old electronics being trashed I always wonder if there's some part that could be salvaged (like the platinum from a catalytic converter - or the gold in a PC tower's hard drive).

    Never thought to snatch the lens from an old TV. That's really cool. I might just swing over to the Goodwill and see if they have any for sale ...

    Here is the lens....It's 2.5" across the housing and a 2" wide lens. It's about an inch thick and I actually
    think it's two lens separated in the housing. Focal point is about an inch above the coin.
