Mid-November Type (Mostly Commems & Other Half Dollars)

I have a small assortment of new coins listed below. The remainder of my inventory is on my website. Shipping and insurance are paid for by me and all items may be returned within a one week (7-day) period for complete refund. Payment accepted by personal, bank or business check or money order, USPS money order and PayPal options. I prefer to avoid the use of PayPal with the fees that are associated with this option, but if it is required please let me know. Any questions may be asked within the thread or sent to me via PM or to my email address of tbush@tbnumismatics.com. Thank you for your time.
Additionally, at this time I am also offering an advanced notice email option whereby you may receive descriptions and prices of all new purchases after each major show or, in the event that a larger purchase is made between shows, as soon as I have a nice group of coins. Simply send me a PM with your email address or send an email requesting to be placed on the advanced notice list. I will not hammer you with emails or a sales pitch; only the occasional update to my site. Lastly, if you would like to read more frequent updates as to my business, you may want to follow or "like" me on Facebook.
1) 1835 Capped Bust Half-Dime Large Date, Large 5C PCGS AU55/CAC

These little coins do not show up in mid-grade AU very often and their published price structure appears stuck. This particular piece has good luster and a thick crust, but even more desirable is the colorful toning that appears on both sides, though primarily on the reverse. The obverse color is mostly in the auburn range with some green near the rims while the reverse is awash with greens and blues features multiple, very strong clash marks. Overall, this piece has great eye appeal for the AU55 grade. ON HOLD
2) 1917 Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS MS66FH/CAC

WOW! What a nice, fresh, dazzling coin. The images are pretty darn accurate, but in no way can they convey the airy feel and wonderful eye appeal of the piece. The Type I SLQ is the SLQ to buy if one wants a fantastic looking coin with great strike and full or near full head details. This coin does not disappoint when examined using those criteria. However, that analysis would sell this coin woefully short. Not only is the coin hammered, but it has very attractive light lime and golden toning draped across the obverse and this is paired with a largely light lilac reverse that has fantastic luster. Perhaps the single, well hidden milling mark in the eagle’s right wing held the coin out of an MS67FH holder. The Type I SLQ is available aplenty, so it can pay to be careful with your choice. As much as I think this is a great coin, if one prefers intense flash and brilliant, flashy luster then perhaps a lesser toned or essentially white coin from this issue would be more appropriate. This coin is in a PCGS 8 style holder used from late 1998 through early 2002. $2,195.00
3) 1839-O Reeded Edge Half Dollar PCGS EF45

I love to handle Reeded Edge half dollars and I actively seek out any nice 1839-O Reeded Edge half dollar. This is likely my favorite issue from any coin series, but most of the extant pieces have problems or are otherwise aesthetically challenged. This piece has good arm’s length eye appeal, but it isn’t perfect. The color appears good and is a bit darker than the majority of the coins found while the remaining details are strong for the grade. However, the surfaces aren’t as pristine as one might hope and, if superb surfaces and/or perfection are required and patience is a strong point, I would urge folks to think twice about ordering this coin. SOLD
4) 1920 Walking Liberty Half Dollar PCGS AU58/CAC

Early Walkers that are choice and original can be much tougher coins than most collectors imagine. The 1920 Philadelphia issue might appear to be generic at first glance, but finding one with original skin, good color and only the slightest trace of wear is a difficult task. SOLD
5) 1926-S Oregon Commemorative Half Dollar PCGS MS65/CAC OGH

This is an MS66. I realize the PCGS old green holder slab states MS65 and also realize that the coin earned a green (not gold) sticker from CAC. Regardless, this is a fully qualified MS66 sitting in an old MS65 holder. The surfaces are a lovely, antique white with good skin that have accents of auburn on the obverse with auburn and blue on the reverse. A generic MS65 can be had for approximately $200 while a generic MS66 trades in the $450 to $600 range. This coin is nicer than most and has more character than many others graded higher. $425.00
6) 1939-S Oregon Commemorative Half Dollar PCGS MS67/CAC

Oregon commemorative half dollars can have great color, but the 1939-S is not found as easily with intense toning. The surfaces are very clean on this coin and a visual inspection of the toning offers much more information than how I might be able to describe the coins in words. $2,500.00
7) 1935/4 Boone Commemorative Half Dollar PCGS MS67/CAC

The Boone commemorative has a great design that is very clean and bold on the obverse with a busier reverse. This coin is mostly white yet features areas of strongly toned rings around both obverse and reverse that show red, fuchsia and green. The remainder of the coin has splashes of light gold with exceptionally clean surfaces. The PCGS price guides states a value of $1,400 for this coin, but that seems too high in the current environment. $925.00
8) 1878 7/8TF Strong Morgan Dollar PCGS MS64/CAC

This is a VAM-37. The color on both sides is a pleasing medium-to-deep blue with golden highlights primarily on the obverse and lavender highlights primarily on the reverse. $850.00

And not to mention the neat, nearly closed loop die crack on the reverse.
