Paypal question

I just sold someone a card in a private transaction. They asked me to send them an invoice. I hadn't ever done that, but I was willing to, and I did. Now I receive the payment, and I see paypal won't let me claim this money without linking my bank account or opening a credit card. What BS is this and is there any way around it? I expressly wish not to link any bank accounts to my paypal account to keep it simple. Please advise.

I would suggest linking your bank account. It makes the simple and it's efficient.

Yes you can have multiple options.

Yes.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

This. You can specify which is the default payment option and which is the backup.

Are you sure? I was under the impression that the hierarchy would always default to
1. Paypal balance
2. Bank account
3. Credit card
And that manual override during each payment was required to circumvent it.
I have both my bank account linked and a credit card and choose when I am paying which route to take.
<< <i>I believe that the PayPal balance is the first default option. That being said you can specify which other account you want to pay with in the second position.

Yes, to clarify, any existing PayPal balance is the default. Then you can specify which payment option is #2 and #3. I overlooked the PP balance angle, since mine is almost always zero!

You can choose any option of payment as first choice. I have paypal credit as mine even though I have a cash balance. This way my purchase on eBay earn extra eBay bucks on purchase.
