watching as well. however for a guy that doesn't know anything about sports cards, he does have it priced accordingly with a $999 open bid and has the "key" card, Nolan Ryan in a top loader....
yes, it was a real game and the cards were distributed with the actual game. and 1 of the 4 variations of the 1968 ryan rookie card. it does, in fact seem legit in everyway possible from my perspective and juan hellavu find if the story is true....he probably got it for $5, if so...

no, I think the mb is actually perceived as being worth more. for instance the last 2 mb's in a 7.5 auctioned off just below $2500...
if you have the time and patience, you can peruse just regular ryans already in psa cases and find the occasional mb tucked away and not noted as psa didn't start distinguishing until a few years ago.
so then you would only need the opc version and the elusive venezuelan version to complete to square.
Sold. Thought it would get more bids, personally... I wonder the condition on the key cards. Still would be a cool piece to have, especially in its entirety.

that's what i thought, too
makes the lack of good photo of the ryan potentially worth the risk
I think the buyer will end up being pleased w the lot and will profit for sure. If I had an extra 1500 to spare I would have dropped it in a heartbeat. Bad time of year though. Kids are expensive lol
I am a ryan fan but kinda lost interest after that card and the aaron where of poor print quality. personally, I think you could piece one together better than that. and who's to say that this one wasn't just that regardless of the story. but for the record, I do hope the story was true.

<< <i>so when everyone refers to a milton bradley ryan I'm guessing this is what they mean. I've always wondered but never asked. >>
Actually, this question is a bit harder to answer than you might suspect.
