Tonite's Rips (1978)

It's been a while since I ripped some 70s material and I'm a few cards shy of 100 for a bulk sub going in this week, so decided to see if I can find a pack fresh card or two worthy of joining the sub. Decided on a selection of 78s. An OPC BB, Topps BK and Topps FB...likely going down in that order, so I figured I'd share.

I've got dinner with the wife tonite so will try to take down BB this afternoon before we go. BK around 10pm PST. And FB tomorrow morning. Gonna record the Atlanta game, sleep in a bit and rip it after my coffee and donuts.

Will do my best to post results as I go.

    First half of pack...pretty typical and nothing special. Rough cuts are growing on me though.

    Second half of pack improved a bit but no stars.

    Kerrigan and Stanhouse have an odd cut, but the Murphy is pretty solid but sitting a but high...9? Worth a sub?

    Ripped the BK last night but nothing exciting. Mo Lucas was the gum card and had some dings as well. Rick Barry was the wax card has a little stain on back. Never noticed it's a reverse negative before. When I first saw it last night I thought the wine had gotten to me.

    Thanks for sharing and great observation on the Barry card. I have seen that one numerous times and never picked up on it.

    BAM! A nice finish. I need a Staubach for my registry too, so I can't be bummed...but why does he have to be the most OC of the bunch??? Otherwise very clean. 9OC? OJ/Bills card is the gum card and is lightly stained and with spots on front .

    Staubach salvaged this rip to a degree, though my expectations weren't high. Still prett happy to at least finish well.
