Question On My 2001 Silver Buffalo With Eagle Label
I was looking for a 2001-P Silver Buffalo commemorative recently and found one on eBay, thanks to a friend who pointed me to it. The label clearly says "Eagle" and the PCGS ID# references a silver Eagle, etc.
Any idea how many exist? Should I leave it in the holder, or is it possible a real Eagle was graded MS69 and the label reflects that and not the Buffalo? Suggestions?

If you want to use the coin in a registry set it won't work as a Buffalo. If you want it as an error keep it as is.
If you want it for a registry set it will have to be relabeled.

<< <i>Under cert verif it shows up as a Silver Eagle. The PCGS coin number is that of a 2001 silver eagle.

Thanks, GrandAm. Was wondering if it had any value or if it's just a curiosity? The Buffalo certainly looks MS69. If I had it re-holdered, and I thought PCGS would do that if it was their error, it might go to MS70. Wishful thinking!

<< <i>Get it back to PCGS to get fixed the Buff is worth a lot more than a Eagle in the same grade. >>
Excellent suggestion! I plan on doing that.
