Here's a few highlights
- I thank Itzagoner, BackBidder, BBuckner, and WalterSobchak for the deals that helped me complete the 1971 Topps set graded.
- If LaneMeyer85 gives you fantasy baseball advice, take it. Lane, I took second this year. And you were right. Matt Carpenter was a bad keeper.
- I remember Brick giving me the "Hi. Hello. How are you?" after I announced myself the first time "First post from a long time lurker" and get something of a warm fuzzy when I see him write the same for a newbie.
- SlugSports has done me a couple solids in getting my 2012 Topps mini gold set almost complete. He also is personally responsible for closing the set for that one guy who had been putting it together for a while. And with no fanfare. Slug, that was a class move.
- I remember when, a year in, I offered the first 200 cards of the 1952 Topps set graded for $7,500. With no scans. That was an education. In retrospect I think the board took it relatively easy on me.
- I still stand by one of the funniest things I have read over the past 10 years being Sobchak's footer quote, "I would hate to think that someone's condo burned down because you and Patrick spent the afternoon kicking each other in the nuts."
- Runner up to the funny quote is to the guy who started the "I just got off the phone with Dean Wormer from Faber college" thread immediately following the "I just got off the phone with (insert name here) from GAI"
- The chuckleheads have come and gone but the core here has been fairly solid. Good on y'all.
I'm probably gonna slow down a bit for a little while with 1971 done but will continue to check in. I look forward to the laughs.
