It's a lovely nickel. But ... to play devil's advocate ... PCGS price guide (which I have found to be generally high) values the entire 1937 proof set under $4k ... which is less than half of this nickel ...
I would shop for the set, find the nicest one, and crack it open. Am I speaking blaspheme?

Just being smart and if you find a nickel this nice in a set for half the price let me know as that is one nice coin. They are hard to image and get a good contrast.

I may just do that. Only 13 graded by PCGS, which seems oddly low to me ... Five are this grade (66cam). Six are higher with five 67's and one 67+
If you really can buy the set for $3,900 then why not shop the best set and submit for grading? Don't even crack it yourself, let PCGS do that for you. I mean seriously, what am I missing here?
