Ideas for displaying raw cards

I have raw and graded cards that I want to display on a wall in my basement at some point. I know there are wall cases made specifically for graded cards and that's the route I'll probably go with the graded ones. Do raw cards work well in those as well or does someone have a better idea? Pics?

You can place the raw cards in penny sleeves and then put them in a 3x5 screw down (lightly tightened). This would help maintain continuity of size and allow the raw cards to work in one of the graded card frames.

Keep in mind that the graded card frames (the ones designed to hold a lot of cards) tend to be very simple designs - a frame with wood slats running across them. You can buy the wood slats at Home Depot, paint them black and glue them to the back of a frame and probably save a lot of money.

Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.

    +1 for making it yourself.

I saw a Penzoni display once at a show and loved it until I saw the price. Went to Lowe's, bought the stuff myself, and my Dad and I made one on our own. Saved quite a bit of money and it gave us a fun project to work on. You can definitely make one cheaper on your own.

Don't have any pictures to share but years ago I made several framed displays for raw cards by cutting a piece of foam backer board to the size of the recycled frames I had, then I used a hot glue gun to lightly glue new top loaders to the backer board in rows (however many you can fit neatly). When dry, I loaded the raw cards into the toploaders and put it all into the frame. On some of them I also used a label gun to put labels under each of them with card number/year etc. I built separate frames for some of my favorite players (Kaline, Mays, Brooks etc.)
  • I built this Display sometime in the late 1980’s early 90’s
Originally it was to display my 61 Topps Baseball set but the
Overall weight for one display was just to much so I had to
    build two.
