OK, never mind. I was just being too sensitive!

Nevermind. Paranoia keeps things interesting.
----------------------------------------------------------
It's been a couple years since I sold my collection.
It's been about a year since I came back and started a new collection.
Actually I never really left the forum; I continued to participate in theads.
Yet I still get asked questions and receive comments that seem to me as if some people resent either that I sold the collection, or that I came back.
Why is that?
Do any of you resent what I did?
Or am I just being paranoid?
I posted the following in a recent thread -
I came back because I like old coins. There were (and still are) many things about the hobby that I don't like, but I still really enjoy owning a tangible piece of Amercan history and collecting old coins is the most fun way I've found to do that.
I'm better of for the experience because I was able to put the money to other good uses; because I was able to prove to myself and to my wife that I could sell everything, make some money, and walk away; and because it enabled me to come back a year later and start over with a fresh perspective and a different collecting focus.

I didn't read it that way, but it seems that a few here may have got their feathers slightly ruffled
All I have to say is...let me know if that awesome Geo III octoganal c/s is ever up for grabs

I knew it would happen.
What kind of questions and comments do folks make that indicate they resent what you did? Or are they possibly responding to the repetition of the story again as if it were a big deal?

Beautiful new collection you have...and yes, you are paranoid. Most people are too focused on their individuals collection to really worry what you do with yours.

I don't resent what you did, or that you came back (the more the merrier), but it seems the whole bit about "I'm leaving" was just a ruse. Most people don't like being toyed with.
You collect in a different area than I do, what you post is interesting, and beyond that, what other people think doesn't seem terribly important.
I was a bit sad when you sold your collection, as I liked to live vicariously with some of the pieces you had, but I never resented it or had any ill feelings. It's completely YOUR (generic) decision to sell whenever YOU (generic again) want to.
I liken it to my feelings about living in a community with a HOA.....I will keep my side of things up, but if I do something reasonable, that you don't like, YOU (generic again) don't get to tell me what to do....unless you are paying MY bills.
So, since none of us paid for the coins you collected, then sold, we don't have a say in the matter.
I don't know many, hardly any to be honest, people outside of the online community here that collect, so I can't base my generalizations on any but those here. To me, a high percentage of the vocal element of collectors have ego issues. That's right. Issues. They have to have things their way. They have to be right. People have to collect like they want them to. People can't pay more than they would. Etc etc etc.
This ego is here, it's on the PM forum, it's prevalent with a good amount of the people around here. Given that, it isn't, sadly, much of a surprise that some would inject their own issues onto you
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
What a sardonic sense of humor you have, Coronel.
MLC, a little paranoia every now and then never hurt anyone. I'm feeling a bit peeky myself at this point.
