Coin show at Plaza Mayor, Madrid

Does anybody here know what time dealers start setting up at Plaza Mayor every Sunday? I'm in the mood to go, but don't want to show up at 7AM (like I would for Parsippany) if the action doesn't start until 9.

Don't know when dealers begin to show up, but that's where I bought my first Darkside -- coin as a tourist in 1988. Grab a fried calamari torta for a snack if that foodstand is still open...!

Funny - it was an open air coin show in a plaza in Seville, Spain that ignited my world coin interested back in 1993. I still can picture it in my mind today.

I got there at 9AM and pretty clearly missed nothing. The outdoor activity is mostly flea market level, although there were a few dealers with some better things. I bought one coin outdoors for 70 euros, and saw nothing else that tempted me. I have to admit that the show is fun to check out, even if it isn't that productive. Go there with a tourist's frame of mind and you'll enjoy it.

I should also mention that some of the stamp and coin shops in and around Plaza Major are open on Sunday, and they have some better things in stock. If you're going to check out the show, you might as well check out the shops while you're there.
