what to do with these 72's...

so here they are. 3 huge binders with probably 3-4K nice white, mostly centered 72's. no major stars, but tons of IA's and semi-stars....

picked out a few that are probably avg cards in the book for close ups. corners are definitely 1000 x's better than what they appear with this crap scanner.

Those look like nice exmt to nrmt/mt cards you have there. Perhaps grade a couple that you feel might get a 9 or higher and sell off those you don't want. I am sure there are many guys here on the boards that would be interested in buying them.

I agree with Shane. Look for the best of the best to submit. Research what commons are condition sensitive because a quick scan of completed sales shows several PSA 9 commons sold for $6-7. Yes there are some that are selling for more than that but you have to figure how long you will have your money tied up in a sub and what your potential upside is. For a standard common it is probably a losing proposition as even a Mint 9 may or may not get you back your grading fees. You are much better trying to sell them raw as a lot on BST or eBay. I have seen some sellers in eBay do a "you pick 10" from a list of commons at a fixed price or auction. Good luck.

    Me three!
  • Would it be best to get those tasty things out of the 9 pockets and in to top loaders ? That is one of my favorite all time Topps sets.

First thing I would do is get the really choice cards out of those overstuffed binders.

If they are like that you should do well with them.
How did you come across they or did you have them all along?
  • sorry guys, clemson had a night game last night and just getting back:

will try to address everything in this one post...

    1. all those needing a few cards, shoot me a checklist.
    2. thanks for the advice. will probably send in a "test" batch and just see. I really think there may be a bunch of 9's and a few 10's in here.
    3. I got these from the same guy I got those few mantles and ryans from (see "grade if for me" threads. the 75 ryan graded 8.5, still waiting on the mantles. anyways, he has binder upon binder of these cards. he said he had just about every year through the 70s that were his sons, gonna go grab the 71's next weekend and upon further conversations it appears that some 54, 55 and 56 topps have surfaced. I might just be throwing him an offer on the entire lot and will keep ya updated. I perused briefly all the 70's card and they seem to be in the same relative shape as these 72s. I have not gotten to look at the 50's cards...
