raw coin storage

I'm thinking of taking some coins out of their mint set packaging to properly image them.
What do you guys use to store them ? I was considering these
2X2 intercept shield holders.

Unless the coins are certified in high grade, you will lose money when you remove them from the mint set holder.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

These are very nice holders imo

  • The coins are not to expensive but you can see in this image what the plastic looks like.
I'm tempted to get a second set of each year as there are only a little over a dozen so far.

30 years ago I used coin shells/Kointains within non-pvc flips. Any coins I still have in these holders are pristine and unchanged.

20+ years ago, I started storing many of my raw coins, particularly silver, in paper envelopes to promote toning.
