When you decide to take the risk of walking a fine line, the possibility of falling off is increased. Passionate people will defend their thoughts to the bitter end, unfortunately that occurred, won't be the first nor will it be the last.

I get really tired of this analogy since PCGS isn't a home. It isn't a house which is private to only the family members or close friends.
It's a business. A multi million dollar business that is publically traded and that has forums for all kinds of collectibles which includes coins, stamps, money, and trading cards. It's collectors universe.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
Imo, Stone knew what he stated with full knowledge of what would probably happen. I think he just wanted to get his opinion out there before he got booted. He committed suicide!
100% agree with 19Lyds that forum is certainly part of PCGS business driver and source of advertisement to the well targeted audience. CU Forum was the first to come up in my Google search results in 2009 when I was looking how to grade my fist UHR. I promptly joined and over past 5+ years have paid thousands $$$ in grading and membership fees to PCGS. It also steered me to MCM, APMEX and other PCGS dealers keeping my purchases mostly to PCGS-holdered coins. I'm sure I'm not alone and it would be naive to discount the business value of this forum to the hosts so I would expect the feeling to be mutual
Normally I'd agree with you but PCGS hasn't fed me anything in a very long time.
Collectors Club Members "used" to get quarterly free gradings for specific themed coins but those days have been traded with grade 3 get the 4th free or some other such "promotion".
As such, the saying "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." simply does not apply.

Are you kidding? This last NGC crossover promo was absolutely AWESOME! My daughter and I sent in the 5 coins each, choosing express service, and only paid for those that crossed. What a deal! I would take that promo every single quarter, and be happy!

Well good for you.
I preferred something that was actually free such as submit 5 crossovers for free grading. Heck, there was a time when even the handling fee was not charged for the quarterly specials.

How's this for Free?
Of course there was always the occasional Quarterly Special where you didn't have the specified coin so you could either PASS or go out and buy the target coin.
Heck, even the handling fee was waived!
Here's a flash from the past! Check out the announcements.
