Thoughts on this Walker... ?

I found this the other day at one of my favorite shops... PCGS secure plus MS66
In hand, it has amazing luster. The band of color is very vibrant ( it didn't capture too well in my photos)
I believe the surfaces are 100% original - but you can clearly see a haze in the photographs that does not stand out nearly as much in hand.
I suppose this coin would have benefited from an acetone bath prior to sending in. Does that sound about right?

Nice looking coin. I like that kind of toning. I don't know if acetone would remove any haze but it seems original. I bet the luster is great.

  • Acetone would most likely not remove the haze. The haze could even be the start of a full surface toning that may turn a slight golden color still over some years. I could be wrong but I have had this happen on some of my coins. Your walker is very nice and it is one I would keep if I had it.

Need to see the coin in hand. Obverse toning and eye appeal of the upper and left parts of the obverse are stunning. Haze in the rt. field of the obverse is a distracting contrast to the rest of the obverse. I do not wish to offend, but I am non-plussed (no pun intended) by the coin's reverse. I think the items in my second sentence got the coin into its holder.
    I hope you enjoy it.

No offense taken, I asked for opinions. It is pretty stunning in hand.
The lights from the photograph really made the haze pop. Like I said, in hand, it's not nearly as apparent.

Do you have a shot of the full front slab.

I like it and the submitter was smart to leave it be.

Not at the moment. I just snapped these two.

I tend to agree. No way I'm cracking it out.
