Full of nice PCGS graded coins, on the way back from CAC, coming from New Jersey on Sept 8th has gone to NY. I tracked it this AM.... That is 41 miles in 5 business days....

Should I alert the authorities or is this the way the USPS roll sometimes....

Registered Mail can take 2-3 weeks sometimes. I wouldn't get too worked up about anything...

My recent registered mail package also took twice the expected time. Since it is registered, it must follow a rigorous chain of control. While secure, this is less then timely and can cause delays.

<< <i>Registered insured mail to Newport Beach 92658, was delivered to Los Angeles 90052 four days ago, containing $25K worth in numismatic gold coins.

Their website says "Successfully delivered". The PCGS customer service girl says : "You better call the post office"

We just had a long holiday weekend when back logs at USPS often occur. I remember one time where it took 11 days for a package from NGC in Florida to get back to me over just such a weekend. That package made it to Jamaica Plains, NY in about a week and then sat there for another 3-5 days before moving out. You just never know how slow it can go.

I've got the USPS on the phone as I type this. He says it's likely an error and not to worry image … I won't sweat too much , YET. image

Registered mail from coast to coast lately has been inexplicably slow. I had a package from Florida stuck in Seattle for three days. Priority Express means nothing when the package is USPS Registered. If we had an alternative SAFE method of shipping coins, USPS would no longer be a choice.

This is my issue with Registered Mail - there is not standard "expected" time. It can take a week or a month.

Registered Mail is under lock and key, it can sit in one spot for days while they collect other Registered packages before they send it on.
