Last week I had a show at the resorts casino in queens. Through some connections I was able to land an ex Yankee for an autograph session at my booth. Turns out that someone was Ed Figueroa.
Not only was he a class act with everyone in attendance signing baseballs and photos, but it turns out he lives close by my home in PR and we are planning to play golf together in a few weeks.
Naturally I had him sign some items for me so I figured I'd share with all of you

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

<< <i>Awesome Baez. What type of show was it? Enjoy your new friendship. >>
Thanks.
It was a food and beverage show.
I remember him from my days in college in NYC - he went 20-9 I believe in 1978 - Yanks won the WS that year. Great memories.
Thanx for sharing!
I always remember Ed from his 1978 Burger King card for some reason?
Reading up on him now, I didn't realize he was as solid of a picture as he was, or that he served in Vietnam.
I'm with Doug, thank Mr. Figueroa for his service when you're out on the links with him.
Snorto~

<< <i>One of the few major league players with all 5 vowels in his last name (why I know that remains a mystery). >>
Just looked up the others:
There have been nine players with all five vowels solely in their last names. Five of them were “Figueroa”s:
•Bien Figueroa
•Ed Figueroa
•Jesus Figueroa
•Luis Figueroa
•Nelson Figueroa
In the “non-Figueroa” group we have:
•Dave Wainhouse
•Dee Cousineau
•Gene Rounsaville
•Ralph Mauriello
