I ripped a box about a month ago and loved it!! Got a Ripken scribble variation and a Griffey Jr. rookie.....it was a great time!! I say go for it, and for sure post pictures!!

381B Randy Johnson VAR (still has the entire billboard visible, but is covered by a dark, reddish shading but still noticeable.)
381C Randy Johnson VAR (still has the sign visible, but there's a black line through the middle of the word Marlboro with the tops of all letters in Marlboro still clearly visible and, you can still tell the sign says Marlboro)
381D Randy Johnson VAR (Still shows the red and white of the sign, but there is a black blob where the word Marlboro once was, no longer showing tops of letters.)

Box broken. Jr. rookie, Johnson no error, Ripken black box. It was a fun rip while watching the Red Sox getting beat by the Yankees.

I just busted a rack case and got 6 ff errors. I've been selling the extras on ebay and noticed that the seller raised the price $30 on their remaining cases. They are a big time seller so I doubt they were following me but it's still an interesting development.

Is the Randy Johnson error (Marlboro) considered a scarce card? I know Fleer acted quickly to attempt to correct the B.Ripken mess but I don't recall how they handled the R.Johnson situation.

Johnson is significantly more scarce, quite a few early boxes have the last Marlboro variation with the FF error.
