1983 Engelhard Prospector Platinum Round 1oz

Can anyone tell me a little bit about this particular coin? I can't seem to find any information on platinum rounds. I was given the coin years ago and forgot I even had it until I was digging through some old drawers. I plan to sell the coin and was wondering if it had any additional value over the spot price.

Thanks in advance,
Gabe

  • Ok, so essentially it's worth only the 1 oz of platinum? That's what I needed to know.

    Thanks for your help!

wish I could translate this gibberish for you. Its worth spot + minimal premium.

plenty of Engelhard collectors out there.

In English....No assay card you may get spot, but with a card $25 over spot.

A question like this is easy to answer by checking the major bullion dealer's web sites. For example, APMEX has them in the original assay card for $45 over melt. They probably pay only a little over melt for them.
