August 4, 2014: 1802 Draped Bust Large Cent!

Debated on whether to take a day off from detecting. But with so much ground left to cover I couldn't pass it up. Tried some scouting and got a Buffalo nickel (dateless), a wheat, and a couple of flat buttons. Also got a weird pin with someone's face. Any idea what that is??

Late in the hunt I got a deep signal in a new area. Dug a super deep plug again... maybe 10 inches, and saw a wonderful big disc come out. Could see the design immediately and that it was a Draped Bust Large Cent!

Thanks Mariner! Almost stopped going to this site because the first visit or two barely produced a clad coin. Guess it pays to give places another shot.

The person is Buckwheat! I thought it was an old woman.

I don't think that screw driver would go down 10 inches. That cent looks like it still has a lot of meat left on it. WTG
