    Theoretically, today's prices should reflect investment potential already. I think answers will tend to reflect whatever people prefer to collect.

    If I had to pick, it would be unopened, because that's where I focus.
    Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.

    What he said; I think because many of us are "collector/investors," responses will be informed by our own personal tastes. I am sure the rarest, most desirable unopened is a good answer, while an equally valid answer would be anomalously well centered and accurately or under-graded single that is in huge demand, be it a Mantle, Aaron, Cobb, Shoeless, Ruth, Clemente, what have you.
