Mention something every collector has, from the young novice just getting started to the seasoned expert with 40+ years in the hobby. I'll start with a Morgan silver dollar regardless of year or condition.

What else is expected to be found in virtually every coin collection?

BTW the last Morgan I own has bids on it so it will be gone soon.

There have been some really great responses here, many amusing, and some very much to the point. But I recall a comment once made to me by the late Russ Logan, author of both "Early United States Dimes 1796-1837" and "Federal Half Dimes 1792 - 1837" on this very subject that I think really applies, particularly to those who endeavor to assemble complete sets of coins. He said that such collectors " ... have a need to make order out of chaos". I've always thought his comment was particularly insightful.
