That IS neat. Makes me think of Professor Julius Sumner Miller ("and physics is my game!"). His videos on PBS and now YouTube always make me smile - his experiences are fabulous and rarely go as planned. I had a science teacher just like him. Always wondered. So the whole thing "shrinks" in proportion to itself. It is denser or am I not understanding this?

so it was done OUTSIDE the mint..?
i just thought it was some kind of a mint error - the word "struck" threw me off.. and the fact that it is slabbed by a TPG
They have had a strong electric current run thru the coin, which does this to them.

why did they slab it with a straight grade?
There are three top tier grading companies and this is not one of them.

Neat kind of post-mint damage, but slabbing these? It would be the same as slabbing a coin flattened by a train (just the opposite result).
