I knew there was an older one to predated me, but we've had so many new guys join lately that I figured we would re-visit it. I may take that list and combine it with the one I started. Thanks Gregg.

We have an embroidery shop and sell promotional products (a.k.a. SWAG) of all kinds to help businesses promote themselves (apparel, pens, bags, calendars, etc). We also have a factory in Vietnam where we manufacture custom baseball-cap style hats for companies to give away as advertisement or for fundraisers to make money.
25th year as an accountant. This thread is an interesting read. Makes sense that it skews to the disposable income crowd. I guess if this was a coupon clipping forum the results would be much different.

<< <i>geez - i really needed to think this one over. what am i? or what have i been?
for the past 5+ years, i've been nothing but a sports enthusiast who buys and sells on behalf of my own private business.
before that, i ran a distribution warehouse full of photographic products, amongst other things. i guess that makes me a former "manager".
this best part of the "living" was never really that. a little over 20 years ago, i was a volunteer roadie for my buddy's rock 'n' roll band, even supplied the van. they almost made it, too. just think - if they had, i might be perpetually wasted and spending my nights with strange hookers in the back of a traveling mega-bus. instead, i currently own recording equipment, amps, guitars and countless gadgets for entertainment purposes.

Anyone I may have heard in the Chicago market? The economics of the rock band is one of my favorite subjects.
I am a superintendent for a small general contractor when we have work to do. I've been with this company for almost 25 years. The last few years have been pretty slow. James

doubt many folks heard at all, although local radio gave them a shot.....the band was known briefly as SWAMP, for whatever reasons beyond the vocalist/lead guitarist's Deep South background.
as an Axl Rose protégé, our guy was supremely talented, but the project didn't last. nor the money needed to promote and support a bunch of crazy musicians.
I have a degree in Electrical Engineering, but have never worked a day in my life as one! Instead, I opted to put my degree to work as an Embedded Software Engineer.
I'd like to give a shout out to the Locomotive Engineer here on the board, as I currently work in the Train Control Industry!

I am retired after over 30 years in the casino business. In 1974, at age 21, I moved to Vegas & started as a shill. 30 some years later I had managed 4 casinos & also opened 3 card shops.
<< <i>Here's one that's not on the list already. I am a pinsetter mechanic for A-2 Brunswick machines; we have 48 of them. >>
I did that full time while going to college. If I am remembering right I was call an A-2 (B) mechanic. I was either crazy busy or doing maintenance at my own pace. I remember eating my meals up on the catwalk. Once during a big tournament 3 machines broke down and I had to keep them running manually running back and forth. If a machine didn't keep running on pace those bowlers threw a fit. Overtime was always there especially if you wanted to strip the lanes at night.
CPA. Primarily tax handling/prep/etc. Prior to that did 10 years time with NationsBank - Bank of America before I tired of it. Headed to Graduate School for a Masters in English Literature. I'm done with the financial side of things, seen enough, good and bad to last a lifetime in that field and I am done with it.
First time posting but I have been reading/lurking/stalking for years. I don't get paid for that though so the tote board feels light on accountants. I won't hit 5k posts like the author of this thread any time soon (or ever), I look forward to contributing where I can, anything baseball 20th century.

replies, I always wonder what happened to all those
people who aren't here now.
Did they quit the hobby? Get bammed? Gone to
lurking?
Some of them have pretty high post counts too.
