Way Cool! The TrueView service has really pushed my coin collecting into full speed over the last couple of years. I am still at the bottom of the numismatic totem pole but am having more fun in this hobby than any other hobby I have ever took on. The TrueView service is also solely responsible for getting me interested in starting a registry set, not for competition reasons but just for me personally. It makes adding coins with beautiful pictures an experience that is second to none IMHO. I have tried the photo options from both NGC and ANACS and although they are nice services, they are not even in the same league as what PCGS and Phil Arnold have done with CoinFacts. It is great to see it expand and get the upgrades in technology that it deserves, and I am glad to have paid into this system over the last couple of years. I will always support and promote this service as long as I live.
...PCGS and Phil...you guys Rock and keep up the good work!
PNG with transparent layer is huge. It isn't hard to remove the white background of round coins, but it takes time. And if the edges aren't perfect, it takes even longer. This will be a huge time saver on large submissions.

it has been available for a while now. how long i cannot say.
i do REALLY like the variable display sizes and types for TV images.
is the link up and running or will it be the same as the original? .
Oh cool. I interpreted the article as saying this was a new feature. Well I'm just glad to be done with "magic lasso" tool and the like. Yay transparency!

do you not use photoscape or are you referring to the png as being useful for non-round coins/items?
i use photoscape and ms paint plus ctrl a/c/v and plow through dozens of images for cropping like the mother ship has control of my pc. .
I use photoshop for non-round coins and coins with pieces cut out (square centers etc). I use photoscape for regular round but even those aren't great results because the crop may be round but the rims may not be perfectly round. These new transparencies will be much better for viewing the entire rim!
