Opinion on Possible Bump for PSA 9 1978 Murray RC?

I pulled this card straight from a rack pack several years ago and self-submitted it to PSA. Was just wondering if anyone thought this card had a chance to bump to PSA 10 under review service? Back is clean and perfectly centered.

<< <i>Thanks for all the responses, guys! I agree with the consensus, and will keep it in its present holder. Sometimes it helps to get a second (or third, fourth) opinion. >>
How much would a review cost for this card?

I say send it in. The upside is thousands which means you get huge bang for your buck. The centering is a touch off but the card is a blazer so in my view you have nothing to lose.

Thanks for the feedback. The latter part of your post was the reason I was considering it, as I have a registry voucher for 3 free grades.

I have never tried the review game but clearly many have and succeeded. To me it makes way more since to go for some long shots when you have free vouchers. If it cost $50 or $100 it would be a much more difficult decision. I think everyone has a seen a 10 that has the centering this card does and while it wouldn't be the perfect 10 it theoretically could fall within the guidelines and you take a $300+ card and make it explode. There was a Jerry Rice in the past year and a Rickey Henderson hit in a 10 from raw subs so anything is possible as you know.
Good luck.
<< <i>Am I the only one who thinks the t-b centering is off more than l-r? I understand the "eye appeal" argument, but 55/45 is 55/45. >>
PSA typically favors cards centered higher rather than lower, in my experience, for this particular issue (similar to 75 minis). Technical parameters for a PSA 10 grade is up to 60/40 centering, though, not 55/45.

Thanks, dpeck. I will keep the board posted with the results if I send it on.

<< <i>Great card but I think the left to right centering affects the eye appeal keeping it from being a 10. >>
+1. Tim, I also think T/B hurts a bit, although the eye appeal l/r is what hurts, IMO/.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Knowing the history I would crack and re sub if anything. I don't see the downside and I can't see if going any lower then a 9 again.
BTW that is a great looking card.

Grader of death can turn it from a $400 card to a $60 card in a matter of seconds. The L/R centering by itself might be within 10 guidelines, and the T/B centering by itself might be within 10 guidelines, but the combination of them is what prevents this from being a 10. I don't necessarily think they grade all rookie cards harder as a matter of policy, but this a very famous and notable one. I don't think it will ever bump to a 10. But it's a very nice high-end 9.
The centering toward the bottom on the right edge is distracting, however I have seen 10's that have some very questionable eye appeal.
Doesn't seem to be any risk as long as you can specify no grade lower than a 9.
The upside id so large, why not try several times?
It does look properly graded though.
<< <i>In my opinion the top to bottom centering is fine. On cards like this with three defined borders, I ignore the "missing" border and if the remaining three are equal, it is fine. PSA may not look at it this way, but their standards seem to vary depending on the grader. If this card were "properly" centered top to bottom, the top border would look WAY to big for my taste.
