Not only is it a miserable fake but the authenticator who signed off on it should be fired.

  • I really don't like that you are calling it a fake without showing proof. Please provide if you're going to call something out like this.

It is 100% fake. The proof is in the sig. Its not even close.

Why the attitude? These guys would like to know why you think it is a fake. You basically told them that they should believe you over JSA without any kind of explanation as to why. I did a quick search for other autographs from basically same time and they look pretty much like this one.

  • I do think MinorLeagueSource have a case. Because JSA usually does not have record of slabbed case. If someone put in JSA # it will say "Any encapsulated item's certification number is not registered within our online database. The fact that the item is encapsulated proves its authenticity through JSA" This item appear online as signed card. The signature doesn't seem to be signed smoothly. Little bit awkward & forced. image

    Eloquent.
  • Looking at this card and auto again, I see no reason to believe that its not legitimate, its as good of a Jeter auto as your going to get. I assume your just a Jeter hater, correct?

The "Best regards!" auto signature makes your whining almost entertaining. Please share with us the information that leads you to believe this Jeter auto is fake.

    I am mad, rarrrr.

I dont think there is any doubt that MinorLeagueSource knows Jeter authentic autographs better than most anyone.

Though I am not an expert on Jeters, I will say that in that the many Jeter autographs I have seen and handled, I have never seen one like that either. I would never buy it even with JSA's stamp of approval. I just wouldnt want it in my collection. Grading/Authentication companies do make mistakes. This auto is way off all together. If its real, Jeter had to have been on a bus or drunk or maybe even drunk on a bus.

I think the point is best made that JSA should never have passed this one because it is much too questionable.

The OP has started 8 threads in the past month and a half on Jeter auto's. He probably would have to be considered an expert on his signature in reality.

Any chance his signature has varied over the years?

What's going on with all these fake autographs from JSA? Ebay seller dirty_water_ink was selling hundreds of forged autographs...all with JSA certs!

Just curious if you could point out the reason(s) you think it's a fake. More for educational purposes image
    Thanks

Ive gotten way sloppy in person autos but usually when an in person auto is so much different then the sit down autograph they won't slab it without pictures. Minor league source collects jeter religiously. I agree the D and loops look off but if in a crowd of a lot of people Id sign a little different then at the table you know. That said I understand the skepticism, there are a lot of autos on ebay that make you want to throw up and to a legitimate Jeter expert who pays thousands every time he does signings I can see this point of view. When I went to training camp to get autographs from the Ravens right away I could tell, oh that's a rushed ed reed or that's a quickly signed Ray Lewis where as psa told me "I was buying bad stuff" when submitting the ones I personally acquired (Plus pictures of me with the athletes!!!! -_-) It could just be very rushed, it could be also be a fake with the congested D and more circular loops, does the autograph show bad traits? Yes. But could it possibly be a rushed Jeter with a cup of starbucks in one hand and a sharpie in the other? Yep.

  • Every letter starting with the D is wrong. There isn't any flow from the beginning to the end of the sig. The hoops are all wrong for this attempt at this era.

A little about myself.... I receive weekly emails from people on whether certain Jeter's are real or not before they buy them. I'm known throughout the hobby as the go to guy when it comes to Jeter. My credentials on Jeter is unmatched ANYWHERE!!!

Just like the big companies I have a exemplar file on Jeter to but, not like theirs I have over 3,500 examples in mine. I've been a huge Jeter enthusiast since 2000 & have acquired A LOT of signed Jeter's since then. I also have huge exemplar files on Jose A Pujols (owned probably 95% of them you seen on ebay in the past 15 years at one time) & Ryan Howard.

Fake Jeter's pop up on ebay everyday & no companies are excluded. Things get by because of human error.

    Best regards!

Hey MLS, what do you think of all the GA Pujols autographs ebay seller sportslegends6 has for sale? He is getting them straight from Albert's family too!
  • bouncebounce Posts: 1,094 ✭✭✭
i've got to agree on this one as likely not genuine - couple things stand out to me as signs

the bottom part of the D has very "sharp" transitions, which is not generally how he would sign - it's normally more rounded even going back that far

also, if you follow the loops in the last name you can see it looks more like it's spelled with two Es following the J - again, this would be highly unusual for his autograph at any point in time

and everyone should keep in mind, whether is PSA or JSA, "likely genuine" is not the small as FOR SURE

I wouldn't buy this one either, but maybe a bit aggressive in terms of calling it out

I know this seller & where he got some of his early Jose A Pujols signed items from. We all use to get them from a guy who worked for a Brewer's minor league affiliate. sportslegends6, myself & a couple of guys got items from him directly or indirectly. sportslegends6 does know Albert's cousin. He brought him to the National in 2008 0r 09.

Needless to say the items he has now are no longer deemed legit. Hence Psa & Jsa not authenticating for him anymore.

It's amazing ebay let's him continue on selling these obvious fake auto. He has sold thousands of Pujols forgeries over the years. Wonder if he knows Derrick Rose's cousin cause he seems to sells him in bulk

MinorLeagueSource, what do you think about these two?

Not to step on MLS's toes mlbfan but those autos are good. From his very early years. His auto has changed significantly.

I remember getting Jeter's auto when he played for the Albany-Colonie Yankees. (I live in Albany). He did a couple of shows and that was his signature style at the time.

    Hi,
