I came cross 2 of these at a lcs, bought them cheap and saw that they're going for as much as $83 on eBay. I listed both for $69 each and they were both bought within minutes of listing them....why? Anyone know?
I can't seem to find any info. on them, not even on the SAC site. It's odd that a "commercial" art bar would go for so much. I wish a had 100 of them lol.
Here's one of my auctions of them that went for $69 minutes after listing I guess I underpriced them lol.

The 100oz bar must have been slightly under weight at the time of making as on the back it looks like someone splattered droplets of silver on it to make it weigh out. Looks 100% original to the bar and they are somewhat sharp to the touch.
I would be interested in knowing more about them as well.
Edit to add: Looks like they are still around.

I could see that to some degree, but are the ex-employees buying these up to the point where they are setting the eBay value to them? Really? That seems to be a minor factor, but then again, I admittedly think too much on these things sometimes as I stand accused of, right Louie?
I'm happy to have gotten what I did for them because as the Capt says, I basically paid Spot for them. Wish the dealer at the show woulda had more.
I knew it would happen.
<< <i>You'd easily get $70 for it now on eBay WRM...just sumfin to think about >>
his would net less than spot...

I don't know how you arrived at that conclusion, unless spot is over $55 per oz.
eBay fees: 6% less 20% of FVF
PayPal fee: 3%
Seller will net around $60

Got to factor in the long-term tax owed on the profit, plus the "opportunity cost" in having the capital tied up in that bar for "~40 years"

I know this is years after the fact, but photobucket won't let me see the photos you posted of the 100oz H&M bar, if you can, please repost them, thanks!
Photo bucket will no longer allow pictures to be exported, unless you pay their exorbitant annual fee.
