I didn't know he had anything to do with these coins.
I am holding one in my hand. My mom, bless her heart, used to buy this type of thing off late night TV. These were sold in short infomercials and on the back of magazines like the National Inquirer.
The one I have has the identical design as the one you show from eBay except it is larger, the size of a silver round. And it says One Dollar on the top. The design and the other inscriptions are identical. On the edge it says: "Commonwealth N. Mariana Islands - World Trade Center Recovery Silver - 100 Mil Clad"
Now that I look at it close-up, I see that on each side at about 5:00 it does say, "DC". And the same thing is on the eBay coin.
In 2004 I had not yet started to do any engraving or minting. But I did do the graphic design for that, as well as for the more-common "Freedom Tower Silver Dollar". When I saw the marketing campaign for it, I decided not to do any more work with them ("Natonal Collectors Mint").

Son of a gun. I would never have guessed that.
Although the real accomplishment will be with a tribute plated proof.
Still, I think it's a testament to Dan's artistry that someone liked the design well enough to turn this into a pendant.

Here is my information page about them (scroll down about 1/4 of the way to the appropriate section):
