I have a proof 1888 and it has a bit of a haze and thought it might be a good candidate. But,
what has your experience been? Turn around time??

If it grades PR63 or better (and it looks like it), you have to try.

If it's already in a holder send it in for restoration but they might refuse it (a good sign that it is cleaned).
I've sent about 11 coins in since they started offering the service, they have refused to restore 4 out of the 11 so far...and looking at the coins returned, I knew immediately why.
I'm sorry this Proof Morgan looks cleaned to me from the photos (look at the wipe marks across devices, halo around the stars and lettering, etc., a tell tale sign on a proof).
Just my 10 cents

It's like a "You Suck"… but not quite.
Beautiful coin and a great pickup! Glad that you conserved it for your collection and also for posterity!

Sweet!
I have used PCGS's restoration service six or eight times and I've never been unhappy with the results. Most of the time I'm 100% satisfied. Once I was a little disappointed more of the PVC wasn't removed. But I suspect PCGS knew the limit on how far they could go.
I have a lot of faith in their skills. Much more so than NCS. The only thing I dislike is the 4% premium fee and, of course, that they now charge for a service that used to be free and was covered by the guarantee (talking about spots that develop, like PVC and verdigris).
