the same way last year they had reverse proof buffs for sale at the ANA but did not fill customer's online orders.

It's all about the money and the acting direction Peterson is using his MBA thinking to scrape in the dough. He's forgotten the government aspects.... something I wonder it has gotten lost in any of their potential Baldrige process use (make government more like business).

There is no wonder about it. They have the product and have trouble with shipping and general ability to handle their website and orders.
Having ordered from them for years, it is very evident in many instances.

It is very easy to take product (on hand product) and physically sell it. Much more difficult to have competent vendors and management to handle the online orders and logistics.
    Just ask Amazon.....ooops.....bad example image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Hopefully, none of the coins they are bringing are coins which I have had on backorder since 3/28.
This means that of they bring silver dollars (Proof and UNC), I'm gonna be pissed.
If they bring Uncirculated Half Dollars, I'm gonna be pissed.

If they bring Gold, I know a lot of folks that are gonna be pissed!

those sales counters including the Mint HQ and the now defunct sales counter in Union Station in DC all receive product routed through Plainfield.

All the mints send their product to Plainfield and the sales counters have to receive it from Plainfield.

This makes the show sales all the more infuriating as they are taking product that should be going to previously placed online and telephone customer orders.

Well which is it: "a large quantity" ( which is correctly pointed out should be going to back ordered customers) OR "limited number of coins". Can't be both. One or the other is necessarily stretching the truth...better know as a lie. Government double talk showing utter contempt for their customers and stupendous arrogance. I suggest a boycott of the mint booth and all products for sale there. But do go up and tell them they should be ashamed for their behavior.

    both

reading from a marketing perspective, one has to say "limited supply" unless there is an unlimited supply. Plus limited supplies means "hurry! buy! buy! buy!"

Hmmm. A boycott with signs and placards sounds like a great idea!

It would certainly get the US Mints attention after the story showed up in the National Coin Magazines!

If there are any HOF coins for sale at Long Beach, I hope the attendees ask the US Mint why they are selling coins over the counter
when there are so many collectors who have ordered the same coins and have been waiting months for the coins.

Hopefully, there will be a clear and unequivocal answer.

Patiently waiting to see exactly what was offered at the Long Beach show.

They had most of the stuff that is on the mint website, the proof sets, medals in both large and small, quarter rolls and bags. At least most of the under $100 stuff. Not sure if they brought all of the gold and platinum, but they did have a decent selection of gold eagles I saw.

They also had the proof and unc Baseball HOF half dollars. Limit was 5 total coins either proof or unc or some mix of each. They started selling at 10am when open to the public and people were still buying at around 6:30pm today when I was leaving for the day. I heard of many people buying their 5 coins... then going back later getting 5 more... then again for 5 more... and so on. Of course, nearly all of those buyers were just flipping them right away.

Complain to peterson is all I can say. He loved the sales of the RP Buffs at last year's ANA. I'll bet he loves the sales of the HOF at both of the shows so far.

    same fax number as usual.

It is very possible the Mint set aside the Long Beach baseball coins during production and before sales even began. It's not like they didn't know they would be setting up a booth. Assuming they are taking sold coins to Long Beach may be an error.

Yes, that is possible and from a bookkeeping point of view you can see how someone could justify continuing under present conditions. The coins may have been "in stock and reserved" for the show the minute they popped out of the dies.

But it's still wrong. I have all my coins now so have no dog in the fight, but I agree that it does show a callous disrespect for customers.

March 27 orders placed.... some still unfulfilled.

June 5th.... people in line are getting up to 5 at a time.

I have a problem with that even if the attendance and offerings were planned in advance.

On March 27th I ordered 3 - $1 PF & 3 - $1 UNC and here I sit with All Orders Unfulfilled but have Bags In Hand...!

Now I hear they are passing them out at another show blowing off there obligation to ship my orders in a timely manor...

I have Canceled All Orders and Closed My Account, I'm not playing this game no more as it leaves a bad taste in my mouth...

Bright Side, Now they have extra Coins to pass out at the next show...image

Just plain WRONG in every sense of the word.

I repeat - 3/27 ordered clad uncs, CC charges pending, no coins in site.

I suppose waiting 74+ days (2.4 months) and counting, is reasonable in this fast paced society we live in.

I'm happy others had over 10 weeks to think about, then stroll up to the booth and get some.

    Serenity now.

Correct. I wouldn't be on board with giving potential customers the impression that there is an unlimited supply of HOF coins at our Long Beach show. In fact, I believe the Mint sold out of those coins on that Friday.
