I don't know what the deal is with these packs, but it looks like the contents are the Topps Story Booklets that were inserted one per pack in a series or (multiple) series of 1970 Topps baseball cards. My guess is Topps decided to test market the booklets on their own. Awesome pack!

edited to add: The plain white wrapper with the sticker (as well as the sticker seal on back) are typical of test packs.

It's kind of like a pilot for a television series. They made some to try them out, some got turned into official releases, others got tossed on the back burner. I've got a handful of nonsport test packs from the 70s. Not sure on the value of yours.

Looks like something from the Topps Vault.

The Topps Baseball Booklet pack was issued in '70 as a test issue. Most or all of Topps test issues were produced in a generic white wrapper with a sticker stuck on top. I bought the '70 pack from Steve Hart at the '06 National for $400, had it slabbed by PSA and upon seeing the holder cracked it out and put in into a GAI holder, which had switched to the non silver label at that point. I believe it graded a full grade higher in the PSA holder, but the pop report should confirm that.

    Here's a few I own:

Awesome stuff Anthony. I believe that's the first time I've seen most of those.

Griffin that is a museum quality collection you have. Whats the story on the baseball comics pack?
These test issue packs are interesting.

+1. The obscure stuff he and Bishop break out is amazing.

I am guessing that was a precursor to these?

Thanks for the kind words. Al (Bishop) and Bob (Bobs BBcards) have truly incredible post war collections, and beyond that they are 2 of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

Snorto sounds about right on the comic packs- Topps often tried stuff only to bury it for a few years and dredge it up later.

Fantastic items, guys. Thanks for sharing! (I have very fond memories of the few oddball issues I collected as a kid - primarily the 1984/85 Topps Super and the 1986 Topps 3D issues. Of course, I *really* got into the stickers from about 1982-1984 or so...
