Engelhard prospector gold round 1982 0.25 oz question

Buddy picked up 2 of these from an elderly lady. They are in the sealed plastic with the cards. What is the typical value on these? Based on my research they seem pretty rare. Thank you in advance for your responses!!

I'd put it in this category but am not an expert in these pieces.

    eBay

I'd estimate $500 retail for an Engelhard Au 0.25 oz round if ask.

I agree that they are not common, but I don't know what if any premium they might be worth. If Silver Baron reads this, he might have a reasonable estimate.

They are scarce but their collectors base is not as big as the one for scarce coins.
They go in the $430-470 range. With some luck eBay can bring even more (less the fees).

Let's wait for SilverBaron to confirm whether I am right or not.

Hey all ......... Everyone is spot on [ pun intended ]. These little guys are NOT

easy to find ..... butttttt with a little time .... they do come around.

    With gold at $1300 .... $400 - $450 is just right!! image

    In order of availability ..... 1oz .... 1/10th ..... 1/4th ..... and the 1/2oz is the toughest.

    Good pick up!

    Keep on Stack'n!!
