Now that silver is falling toward $19 per oz......

How many of you see this as a good buying opportunity? How many of you are sitting on the sidelines waiting for silver to fall even further?

I am on the sidelines, however, I am not at all sure that it will fall much further. Not ready to buy a bunch yet...Cheers, RickO

Sidelines here, silver and gold don't seem to react well to news lately.

I pretty much feel the same way. I'll buy if a good deal comes along. Otherwise, I'm sitting on the sidelines.

I don't expect any sharp increases until sometime after the equity bubble pops or after the shooting starts. And even then metals will at first move lower along with everything else as players move to cash. I'm looking for $17 range before then. Those that believe gold to be the better play need to keep in mind that silver normally follows gold in direction but at much sharper percentage increases/decreases. With both metals hopefully near their bottoms, the biggest gains should be made in silver.

For those in accumulation mode, keep in mind that those who sold silver at it's $49+ high really didn't fret over whether they paid $20 or $30 for it.

Looking at sub $415 a roll or so before buying any more. Really like to pick up a few ounces of sub $1200 gold to offset some higher priced stuff I'm sitting on.

I've yet to find ASEs at $20 or under. That's about the only thing I'll buy.

Not sure silver will get low enough to make $20 ASEs a reality. Al least not in bulk from the big bullion houses, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.

Only about $800 or $1.60 per coin to go. Would be tempting, but not sure I'd want to put THAT much $$$ into it.

I wont invest 10K into anything PM related, personally it would end up stressing me out where as instead I like to pluck a few ounces here and there with "play money" and throw it into my stash. I actually have no idea how many ounces I own, when the number ( If ) gets to where Im ready to sell then I will get into it, until then its a stress free little hobby for me.

I can't post the chart here but if you compare the 2 year performance of the DJIA vs. SLV you can see they are negatively correlated. SLV is down around 35% and the Dow is up around 29% over the past two years. Once the stock market tumbles, then we will see a recovery in silver as a flight towards safety. What do you think?

In times of uncertainty the flight to safety begins with a flight to cash taking down most asset classes. Look at the charts for 2008-2009 for different classes, metals were no exception. However, metals were among first to recover and they did it nicely. If the next crisis is a dollar crisis, then a move to metals with those dollars is a good possibility.

While most become stronger buyers at lower prices, I've got to see some price strength before I'm in for more.

I've been sitting on the sidelines for the most part.

I did pick up two tubes of 2014 silver eagles but that's basically all I've added to the stack recently.

I have no idea where the price of silver or gold will go from here but I would be a strong buyer if it could get down to around $15 for silver.

Entry points are opportunities. When it rises, sell some, or whatever. If it drops, buy some…. or whatever. Have some to hold and hold some to have.

Your question should have been rephrased: How many of you are willing to continue to catch that "falling knife"? I'm sitting on the sideline waiting for silver to rise. I've seen it fall now for 3 years.

  • I still buy bi-weekly or once a month. This is purchased with funds that would not be missed even for some catastrophic reason silver went to $0.

    I also buy gold.

I have begun to start staking a little silver, a few ounces here and there. I am starting to enjoy it. I have quite a bit of silver that I inherited, so I am adding to that and going to try to buy a little gold eventually. I am in it for the long run though.

I'm not really looking to buy silver, but I've been nibbling a little on gold and platinum.
