LucyBop and her "Frankie" halves. Where is she?

ms70ms70 Posts: 13,946 ✭✭✭✭✭
Anyone know what happened to LucyBop? Looks like one day back in 2012 she posted as usual and vanished.

Does anyone stay in touch with her?

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Have not seen her online here in a very long time.... but yes, drag racing took over numismatics....Cheers, RickO

Ah! I can actually relate to that. I remember she turned a little unsuspecting Dodge Neon into a super killer drag car and was very successful with it.

Well thank you for the replies! Happy to know she's having fun.

The last time she posted, sadly, sounded as if she had suffered some trauma that had affected her cognitive process...

Went something along the lines of:

"Oh! I remember this place! I think I had many friends and happy times here..."

I am pretty much sure that was her very last post and was a cpl yrs ago,
However I would be very pleased to be shown to be wrong...

    No, you're right.
There was also a cry for help.
The whole episode was sad and so unnecessary. Definitely caused a wrinkle among some collectors (two of whom never recovered nor returned).

Ugh. I'm really sorry to hear that happened like that. But I remember back in those days things got like that. Too bad, she was nice.

The last message I recall seeing from LucyBop was on Sept., 26, 2012, on the Set Registry Forum thread titled "Remembering the Past", where she commented on "fishing lures", a term some of the registry folks used to refer to Mercury dimes.

I believe I saw her in passing on an episode of Roadkill on their YouTube channel just a month or so ago. The roadkill guys were traveling across country in their usual beat up hot rod and bang there she was talking shop with them along the road side. No name was spoken but it looked like her. She said she had other ass kicken cars also. That's what sealed the deal for me. Good to see Lucy happy and lively.

Her third great love was her music.

But even her internet rockin radio show went caput.

I still have a CD of great old doo-wop tunes she compiled and I treasure it...

Surprisingly easy, cheap cars to modify (looks at garage). Yup, I've got a few! Didn't know she was into them. Might have to track down some specs on her.
WTB: Eric Plunk cards, jersey (signed or unsigned), and autographs. Basically anything related to him

She had some good threads with her modifications to the car & pics of her racing. But that was back when there was an open forum. Those threads are gone.

    I just wouldn't bet she's gone.

Mebbe she needs a compelling reason to post.

There hasn't been a lot of frankie talk for a while. Maybe when they heat up again she will as well.

In any case it can serve as a reminder to appreciate what we have and not dwell on other things.

    Hiya Lucy! image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
