Which players will FOREVER be in the baseball Non-Hall of Fame

Only the ones with the qualifying stats. So far I see Joe Jackson and Pete Rose. Any others?

    Barry Foote.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Rafael Palmeiro, Manny Ramirez, ARod, Braun. The other roiders may be able to get away w/ something like they already had HOF numbers before they started using (e.g., Bonds, Clemens) and/or they were never officially "caught" just circumstantial evidence and/or when they were "caught," it was before MLB officially banned them. However, these players got caught after they were banned, and they were all suspended.

Though my home-town bias thinks he should be in, I'd worry that Alan Trammel is on this list.

Also possibly Edgar Martinez. Still undecided on what to expect for Jeff Kent.

Check out the article written in "baseball past and present"...do a google search...awesome reading on some of the best that aren't in the hall...love the Kenny Lofton picture from 1980...I read this article when it came out at the beginning of the year and was bummed that Ted Kluszewski wasn't in there...worth the read on a very cool topic.

    Isn't the suspension the punishment?

Couldn't being suspended for a year or a half of a year in essence "erase" some of the stats that "could" be attributed to PEDs?

Isn't that the motivation behind suspending a player?

Also, Which stats are the ones in question? HRs and Strikeouts only? Hits, RBIs, Wins, ERA, BA?

Or is it all or nothing.

check out the ebook, "The Hall of Nearly Great"

42 different writers each write a piece. Now there are some names I don't completely agree with, but overall it's a pretty good read.

  • I believe that eventually Bonds and Clemens will get in, although they will both have to wait a good long time.

I don't think any of the other PED users with HOF-worthy stats will ever get in, except mayyyyyybe Big Papi. I think he has at least as much of a chance of a gal like Mary Swanson getting together with a guy like Lloyd Christmas.
