    You are right , that didn't even occur to me. I guess I was thinking of popular or heroic figures.

    For instance , we love George Washington here in the US but he doesn't show up on other countries coins .

    Liberia doesn't count , they may have Washington coins , but they made some Bill Clinton coins too so its a wash.

    This is essentially the same thing as a sovereign. I love gold and silver coins which indicate metal content and purity right on them.
