May 1, 2014: GOLD CUFFLINK! Also 2 V Nickels and IHC

Got back to the same place as yesterday with the hope of finding some more silver. No silver came out, but 10 minutes into the hunt a foil signal came up. Almost passed it up, but told myself, "just dig it, there's no harm in it." After first picking it up, it seemed just like another copper/brass "whatsit". After rubbing the top it seemed unnaturally shiny, which was very odd. Then on the front a "10k" mark showed. What a surprise! Turns out to be a "vintage" 10k cufflink. One website said it could date to the 1950s.

Also got 2 V nickels - 1902 and 1895. A toasted IHC also showed up. And a flat button to round things out.

HH all!

1st gold of the year is always nice. Looks like you've done your homework on these sites.image

With the age of the coins I would say there is certainly potential for more at that site... nice piece of gold as well... Cheers, RickO

Are you sure that's a cufflink?

It looks exactly like a tuxedo stud (button), from a tuxedo I rented many years back.

someone else suggested it might be a "stud" as well. So maybe it is?

I would agree that it definitely looks like a tuxedo stud. Nice find!

Looks like you have fairly rough soil conditions at this site.
Those are some properly fried coins right there! image
