Funny you say that. I was thinking I haven't seen him around in a while. It's breaking my heart.
Go Mariners!
I know those are not as good but I can put you in touch with him he's ready to sell !!!!!
<< <i>Sorry I have no 51 vending boxes. But I do have a customer that says he's got cases of 1958 bowman baseball.
I know those are not as good but I can put you in touch with him he's ready to sell !!!!!

I've been looking for a '55 Topps Mantle for years ... could you ask your customer if he has one?

Bunt was awesome!! I miss his bizarre posts while drinking beer and smoking Marlboro Reds from a hotel room and busting wax. Classic stuff.

Give me a minute and I bet I can change your mind. The loser behind bunt and all of his other id's has been on the boards for about seven to eight years. Within that time , all of his 12+ id's have been banned for being a nuisance and for personal attacks on select members. He's an alcoholic that obviously cannot control himself once he gets drunk. He's attacked five members that I know of on the boards. Once he realized they were ignoring his trolling, he started in emailing them doing the same thing. Saying crazy stuff about member's kids, wives and other insults. I was on his email list as well. He said some disgusting stuff about my wife and newborn son that I can't repeat.
There was also a nice, long-time member (who I won't name) here years ago that left because of "bunts" behavior. The boards a few years back were a nicer place to be. Way more of a family type setting than it is now. Comfortable enough for guys to share family photos and more personal stuff. That said, there was a thread made and the "member" posted wedding pics of him and his new bride. Bunt did his usual thing calling the member's wife fat and ugly among other things.
He once applied for membership at cardboardtalk.com a while back. I knew it was him right away because of the username, ip and location it was from. I let him in thinking everyone deserves another chance. Big mistake. He immediately made a thread attacking me and my family. I banned him right away. That did it for me with this tool. There's no place for anyone like him. He's obviously so unhappy about his own life and being an alcoholic, he needs to drag others down to make himself feel better.
People don't come here for stuff like that. Attacking member's through email because of a lack of response here tells you what a first rate pos this guy really is.

I think people have to understand that as great as 1952 Topps baseball is, not everyone can build a "9" set, or afford a 1914 Baltimore News Ruth. Collect what you like and have fun. There is no room for negativity and harassment. Not to get off topic, but I definitely enjoy the older threads and I still read them. I hope the boards can get back to that. I've learned so much from you guys and am happy to be a part of it. Have even made a friend along the way. Have a good one gents...can we start getting back to get threads about cards?

It was a word he made up just for the song, just like "Space Cowboy".
<< <i>I can't believe Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker's streak...I still think Undertaker should have went undefeated until he retired..doesn't make sense that Taker would want to give Lesnar that rub...hmm >>
OK... that has my vote for random post of the thread. LOL.
But since you brought it up, let me put on my "wrestling smark" hat for a minute.
Taker had said some time ago that if/when he dropped the streak, he'd like to drop it to Lesnar. I guess they're friends outside the ring and he saw Lesnar as the future of the business (He's wrong! But I digress).
I think it was a terrible idea to drop the streak period, much less to a part time wrestler like Lesnar, and I agree that he should have stayed undefeated... they still could have done a great buildup with Lesnar as heel and Taker saying he would retire after Mania no matter the outcome...then they could have given him a well deserved 3 hour sendoff on the Raw show after WrestleMania. Colossally bad choice to end the streak in my opinion.
Now the question is whether Taker shows again next year or not; as things stand there's no reason for it outside of Lesnar/Taker II, which no one cares about now that the streak's done.
The only other reason for him to return is if Sting finally shows up in WWE as is rumored to happen- and the fans finally get to see the Sting/Taker match that everyone's wanted for most of the last 20 years.
We know he's a lock for the WWE HOF but I just can't see them letting Mark Calaway quietly retire the best character in pro wrestling history without giving him his due in the ring somehow.

Yeah I was just being random based on where the thread was going. It was doomed from the start, so figured I'd bring a little humour to it. Growing up, I was a huge wrestling fan, but since have gotten out of it the last 5-10 years. It's not the same anymore as it's more of a "soap opera" and not hard-nosed action like it used to be. I don't agree with Vince Mcmahon's vision of the business. Growing up, I watched a ton of old NWA, Mid-South, WWF, and ECW (the orginal South Philly version).
After ECW died in 2001, I don't know why but kind of gave up on the business. People knew all along that ECW was "the farm system" for WWF but I loved ECW. I went to a lot of shows at The ECW arena with friends and also caught shows when they came up here to Upstate NY. They frequented Schenectady from time to time. In any event, if Paul Heyman never decided to sell his company for a job at WWE, I still think ECW would be going strong today. They offered a cutting edge product..a mix of old school/hardcore/high spots galore that no one else was doing. Major federations copied them blantantly.
In any event, no Undertaker never should have jobbed to Lesnar. There are many other "full time" workers that the could have given that rub too. Lesnar I've never been a fan of. Hell he walked out on the company after his first stint. Kind of odd as Undertaker is a company man and is pro-WWE that he would end the streak to someone with that track record. I've heard reports in the past of Lesnar being hard to deal with backstage, and if he doesn't get his way, he walks out..sort of a new age Ultimate Warrior if you will.
Lesnar IS NOT the future of the business...guys like Bryan Danielson are (Daniel Bryan) or the Wyatts. Sorry for rambling, but the streak I feel should have stayed in tact. It's the one thing that no one else has done in a worked business, and it could have stayed with him forever. The Undertaker charactor is one of the most unique creations McMahon ever made and probably will never be done again. Sting taking the streak? Nah... Like you said it would be great to see the match, but both men are way past their prime, and Taker should go over in the end. Sting doesn't lose any luster by jobbing to Taker...in this day in age I wonder if any of the fans even know who Sting is?

<< <i>I was new on here and asked an innocent question and bunt ripped into me and accused me of being an alt before I even knew what one was. Ironic, since he is an alt himself. Some of the vets of this site, great guys like cpamike and grote, PM'd me explaining what bunt meant and telling me not to worry about it. He vanished shortly thereafter. >>

I'm right there with you as far as what I watched as a kid. I think at first it was All-Star Wrestling with guys like Dick The Bruiser, Bobo Brazil et.al. (unfortunately they were at the end of their careers by then but still fun to watch), NWA, the Crockett version of WCW, WCCW with the Von Erichs, AWA, WWF/E, the original ECW... good times.
As to the new guys, Danielson could easily be the new face of the company (heck, in the eyes of the fans he already is)...hopefully they don't do something stupid with him like a heel turn. The Wyatt family characters are brilliant and getting better pop from the fans than anyone they face- especially Cena, who no one over the age of 12 seemingly likes... but their mommies and daddies still buy them millions worth of his merch so that's why he's still top face. Without the kids Cena would be a midcarder and they would be begging CM Punk to come back.
