Shipping included? Please advise

Recently purchased BOTH items. Seller advised that I did not include postage and was rather short about this.

What do YOU believe? Shipping included if BOTH items purchased?

Since he didn't specify total shipping if purchased together, I would guess that $2.50 would cover both. BST transaction? To offer you advise, will need a link to the listing.

it is seller's choice but it is a little near-sighted not to do combined shipping if i am understanding this thing correctly.

i'm pretty sure 2 slabbed quarters packaged properly with a shipping label/invoice would be under 3oz which makes shipping under $2.00 with delivery conf.

maybe, just maybe they would squeak over 3oz, the shipping is still under $2.50 give or take.

lose a customer over a couple bucks is just poor business practice.

It sounds like shipping cost only if one coin is bought? If both coins are bought no shipping? Kind of confusing.

I read it that if you buy two, or more, there is free shipping. Otherwise it's $2.50.

If you are unhappy just cancel the transaction and move on. This isn't worth worrying over.

It helps to be clear on the details before commiting to buy.

If shipping was material to my decision, I would have asked a question before purchasing.

If you are buying coins that you do not like enough so that $2.50 or $5.00 in shipping charges may make you question the deal, you may want to reconsider why you buy.

    just did. 2.8oz

pcgs 3 prong slabs with 2 washington quarters. i shipped thousands of items from a single wheat cent to an antique barber chair. i've got the calculations down pretty well. so much so i generally can do them in my head. insurance aside as i don't use that often enough for it to stick but i can ballpark it fairly well.

i also prefer that this part isn't left out.

ok. they are 2.9 with a packing slip. with tape, shipping label and bags for the slabs, probably 3.0 even.

2 small different padded mailers and 1 larger one. w/o bubble packing inside, probaly go as low as 2.5 or lower.

i'm also including this cute cat for posterity. image

    OK,

But what is the cost associated with Delivery Confirmation?

And what do you pay for the envelopes?

I only ask because you specifically stated: "i'm pretty sure 2 slabbed quarters packaged properly with a shipping label/invoice would be under 3oz which makes shipping under $2.00 with delivery conf."

I estimate the cat as about 5 pounds 8 ounces , which is immaterial as I believe he will go in a medium flat rate box easily.image

i have a nice long post but it isn't letting it go through. it says i am blocked, so there must be something in my response that isn't acceptable. usually it shoes what this is specifically but i'm getting a type of error i've not seen before. i'll work on it and check back.

i can't find what it is in my text so i'll just do it this way. if you see the problem, let me know and i'll post the text instead.

    XXXXXXXXXXXX

here goes. lets see if my text will go through now.

<< <i>I only ask because you specifically stated: "i'm pretty sure 2 slabbed quarters packaged properly with a shipping label/invoice would be under 3oz which makes shipping under $2.00 with delivery conf."??? >>

i ship 3.0oz and under with any of the envelopes listed with just deliv. conf. for $1.93(shipping) (went up by nearly .25c fairly recently image )- it may be possible to go cheaper by up to .50 but i'm not that dedicated to the cause since i don't sell thousands of items annually. the envelopes i do calculate down to per which i generally buy in qty of 200-300 (0.20c each give or take) depending on what i find at the time and the cost per for this batch is . the last a while because i reuse the ones i get from purchases. sometimes going back and forth to some people to remain unnamed, an envelope or box has been reused multiple times which i personally get quite a kick out of. image

even 4oz is only $2.01, well under the $2.50 from the op.

the paper for the invoice/shipping label both come from 1 sheet that i cut in half using my officemax paper cutting thingie. the thing you remember from school with the big handle that cut paper; not scissors. image - i will use this many thousands of times so the per use cost is probably going to average out to $0.00. (like my grocery bags, certain items will end up making you money given how effective they are and how long they last)

the cost of the paper is negligible since it is bought in boxes of 5000 sheets for idk, $40. i don't recall exactly since a box lasts me a LONG time. 2+ i'm pretty sure. also the tape i buy in bulk which was like 20 rolls maybe? which was bought a couple years ago too. the tape lasts a while and the cost is negligible for the amount of items i ship. i personally despise those self-adhering labels. grrrrrrr but i do acknowledge that they are probably quicker to apply.

the ink cartridges are tough to calculate because of how many sheets i get per cartridge but i generally like to stay around $12-15 each for the b&w ones and gets hundreds of sheets per, so that seems about right for the type of printer(s) i am using. although i have heard about an HP that is doing some wonders with duration of usage for cartridges but i can't find the $200 give or take to spend on that kind of purchase. what i have now seems ok.

i would argue value of time and effort but i can argue both sides so well that i usually just wave a white flag to myself and move on.

the digital scale pictured was somewhere between $15-20. don't recall if i paid shipping. bought years ago. i use a 50g weight to validate accuracy of both of my scales and they both always read spot-on.

staples i bought 25,000 of for - can't find this amount right now.

my stapler that makes the back sides very flat was $30 which i've put tens of thousands of staples through and it is going strong. probably do a quarter million staples w/o a problem.

great deal on my new scalpel blades and metal handle. $8 for the handle and 100 blades. blew my mind. good to go for 20 years on those probably. they are so great to use. dangerous but precise.

2x2 cardboard mylar flips i bought 5,000 of for somewhere between $100-125

white envelopes (not the cheapest ones) are around $25 for 500 = .05 each give or take.

i've used many ebay vouchers for these various purchases, so there were some nice discounts and many "free" items. i had to spend money to earn the ebucks, so they aren't technically free.

    So, here is what happens:

Seller agrees to combine for shipping. Buyer gets it, and there is only one coin. Sellers says he shipped 2, buyer says just one. Now off to the ebay resolution arena.

Weight is within tolerance, as there is some "heavy" packaging.

    Ebay sides with:

    Buyer

    Seller

Take your pick, but someone is out the money.

If I was the seller, I would ship separately, and bill accordingly due to scammers.

    This was a BST purchase.

Of note, the other items this BST seller has for sale is listed as $xx shipped or $2.50 for shipping if bought alone.

I....as in ME!!.....assumed, that $2.50 shipping if ONE purchased, would equal 0 shipping fee if I purchased both.

So, because I did not ask, and is not stated if both items were purchased/shipped at the same time, and the seller rather snidely stated I was "a little short, what is up with that"....I graciously sent $5.

Slightly irked, yes. BUT, I did not ask specifics.

The point of this post - better ASK and be CLEAR what the FINAL price is. Dollar amount wise, this is near nothing. Fully realize that.....so...lesson learned. Cheap $5 lesson.
