I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope this thread can provide some comfort for you, however little that may be.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

  • Although the your pain is great, her memories will always be with you. Your Mom should be very proud of the son she raised. May she RIP.
Sorry to hear of your loss.

As others have already said, my heart goes out to you and prayers are sent to you and your family. It was moving to hear you share your memories of her. I had been putting off calling my parents for a couple weeks because I was "too busy" with work and my wife and son and our activities. After reading your post, I called them right away and I hope your post stays in my memory as a reminder that time is limited for all of us and to not take for granted the time we have with those we love. Best wishes,
    Steve
