I am selling my OPC Baseball collection. I hate to do it and wouldn't if not for a couple of high end cards I am targeting that has forced me to condense...
I have always believed OPC Baseball to be the most undervalued and under appreciated run of sets in the hobby. They are ridiculously rare as compared to their Topps counterparts. Even the 1980's stuff is next to impossible to find. OPC made only wax packs and gum would ruin a good chunk of the cards. The stock is very thin making them more condition sensitive than Topps. These POP reports won't be changing anytime soon. As Topps RC's continue to skyrocket, more and more collectors will be turning to OPC with a lot more room to profit.
Many of these cards are extremely rare in the grade they are in, so it's a bit more difficult coming up with price considering today's market. Some may look high based on VCP, but when it's a Pop2 or 3 with nothing selling recently, I have to consider everything, including what I paid. Many of these I am right around my cost:
OPC Johnny Bench PSA 10 POP 2 2200.00
OPC Rod Carew PSA 9 POP 2 $950
OPC Roberto Clemente PSA 9 POP 13 $490 ****SOLD****
OPC Carl Yaztzremski PSA 9 POP 3 $300
OPC Mike Schmidt PSA 9 POP 35 $1300
OPC Robin Yount PSA 9 POP 3 $1900
OPC Eddie Murray PSA 10 POP 3 $2900
OPC Ozzie Smith RC PSA 9 POP 24 $550
OPC Nolan Ryan PSA 9 $410
OPC Tony Gwynn PSA 10 POP 16 $950 ****SOLD****
OPC Ryne Sandberg PSA 10 Pop 13 $1250
OPC Don Mattingly PSA 10 $325
OPC Kirby Puckett PSA 10 $390
OPC Barry Bonds PSA 10 $350
OPC Randy Johnson PSA 10 $175
OPC Frank Thomas PSA 10 $375
OPC Chipper Jones PSA 10 $340
Most of these cards are on my collection web site at OPC Baseball Collection
