. sorting some images in this chaotic mess i call my database and stumbled across this one i've been looking for and for quite a while. moron lance rotflmao
i don't recall whom told me it was on ebay's homepage but i'm glad they showed me. the message is somewhere in my fairly extensive pm history.
. do what you will with this info, i'm just passing it along. trying to get auctiva (or a phishing email) to stop spamming me and decided to comb their site for contact info and stumbled across this page: PAGE. - i didn't click any link in the email, i went direct to auctiva.com
be careful if you get an email that looks like it is from them about invalid tokens. this is the url from a link in a message i got that is "supposedly" from auctiva. a site/service i never liked and haven't used in years.
this is the url - magazyn-poc.pl/images/get
i can see it by doing a "mouseover" but no clicking. .
Clearly not an 1895 proof Morgan, and even more clearly fake as a $3 bill (I know, I know...). The seller sure talks it up in the description - he knows what he's doing...

if someone finds an official place to protest, i will be there. posting randomly and expecting anything to come from it is not something i am going to dedicate my time to. i do very much appreciate the intent
behind doing so though and if others want to do it, i surely will not speak against their desires and efforts.
i've been looking for ebay forum threads on this subject as i would feel much better posting there but i'm sure that people want to remain anonymous for logical and common-sense reasons.
although, if someone(s) wanted, they could take the info on this and throw it in ebay's face. .
. i found this aticle to be quite informative. glad to see ebay is at least able to be ordered into court for some accountability.
for sure i don't blame them for the stuff being listed but i do partly blame them for not taking stricter action against those account that are "caught" selling/sold counterfeit items.
it seems quite simple to me. if you require sellers to verify their identity(ies) and certain sellers get their accounts nuked, eventually it would be very difficult for those people to have accounts, unless they are using hacked accounts, in which case, the same process would still reduce the accounts down fast because we report so diligently.
so the fact we are still seeing as much as we are tells us that ebay is dropping the ball. it is also in their best interest (on the whole) to restrict fraudulent sellers. everything is connected. they may be issued fines, court costs, restitution, loss of revenue from people that won't use ebay anymore. the list really does go on.
although i do honestly wonder if they bring in enough fees to justify ignoring the problem? many large corps have made billions in profits in the face of paying huge fines and keep on chugging along as if nothing is going on. has happened a lot unfortunately.
ok ok, enough political ranting.
another good one - even though ebay won this battle, it is good to see the battles are happening.
proving "willful negligence" is a brutal thing to prove in court and many legitimate cases have been lost because of it. .

what are they saying about the current difficulty in having fakes removed?
<< <i>what are they saying about the current difficulty in having fakes removed? >>
vamworld? i dunno. i just went there to post a link of a dollar and looked at the most recently posted fakes and checked out a couple.
the universal scuttlebutt is that it is a P.I.T.A.!!!!!
i go back through my folders which are named by ebay seller id and look through the items, i am not hopeful.
.
i'm honestly not even looking for this stuff. just dropping in my lap so-to-speak.
i'm on the fence but it looks bad.
hmm. after seeing that 77-s, i come across this one and i wonder, is there a large date and small date 77-s?
