I am glad you posted this. I was looking at it and the sub title says under graded and I am curious what others think about that. It looks like a small print dot on the left border and I would think on this card that would hold it back.

On a side note in this auction they refer to the card as "Dead Centered". This might help explain the centered controversy. That might be what Probstein is now using for truly centered cards.

Beautiful card by the way. I believe one of the last PSA 9's went for over 10k.

  • That rough cut on the right side would bother me enough that I would look for another if I had the funds and was in the market for one.

The rough cut doesn't bother me. In fact, I prefer it. The length of the card t-b though is concerning.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

It does look like the card is sitting pretty low, doesn't it!

Interesting that a card that has NO SHOT at being a PSA 10 could be labeled "Looks undegraded." Not taking shots, but perhaps calling it an extremely high end example would be more accurate . . .

There is also a fish eye on the top border. Definitely not under-graded.

Edmund, I agree completely. For my collection I'd prefer that 8.5 example. It's the better looking card.

ive not followed these in a few years. i picked up a PSA 8 Topps back in 2011 for $300, and it seems that even those have shot up some.

    Nice!

Considering that this seller puts CENTERED awfully liberally in most of his auctions, hardly a surprise it got the Undergraded tag. IMO it's graded correctly

I don't remember seeing them for 5K; I thought they were about $7500.
