I don't see any reason that coin wouldn't grade.

I would grade it XF40. The question would be, will the coin come back as a cleaned coin?

i really enjoy comparing the original images to the pcgs slabbed ones. i told someone i spoke to about this that i probably wouldn't have given it a second thought from the original images. oops ><

This is an interesting post. What is it about a potato that would remove stuff from a coin? Would it be the moisture?
Acidity or alkaline properties?

Would an apple work? Or how about a Jelly Donut?

When you go to sell it, many collectors want the original holder along with the coin.
