1st Touchdown Project -- Updated 5-3-2016 - Went over 500 Returns

Well I feel I have enough to show off my newest project. So here goes.
I have had such a great experience with my 1st Homerun Project and became super spoiled expecting a TTM return almost everyday -- I started to go through a bit of withdrawal when the returns took longer to come home. So I thought that I would try my hand at a companion project and created a card to capture a player's 1st Touchdown.
I am a die hard Rams fan and have been since the Pat Haden days so I started with sending out requests to past Rams. The returns came flowing in and once again I was hooked. What next - I didn't know and still don't I just started sending out to players that I followed, had cool 1st TD stories, started going after some with different helmets and so on and so on. I still have not settled on a strategy and I don't know if I will put the same effort into this as I did the HR project but it is now a blast to try and guess what is in the envelopes a TD or HR. These cards are a bit bigger than the HR ones and the image below shows how they measure up to a regular card.
These are the first returns --- I have a couple of dozen that are not scanned yet -- will try to get them up shortly.
Thanks for looking
Mike

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
Let me first say I love your 1st TD project.
I would love to start one for the Redskins.
Could you please share the program you used to create the cards. I would love
to do the 'Skins with all their dif. helmet styles over the years.
I would be more than happy to share any Redskins 1st TD information that I uncover
in my research. If you found 1 person for every team you could create a full nfl version
in a find and share version.
I would be happy to ask for one in your name too in all mailings I send out.
Also what addresses did you use to get Hanburger & Theismann?
And where do you find your addresses?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Once again I love the project!

<< <i>I love it Mike. How are the responses for this project as opposed to the 1st HR project? Are the football players more responsive or about the same as the baseball players? And what type of percentage return are you running at or is it too early in the game to tell?
Good luck, I'll be watching along. >>
They have been great so far -- I did start with guys that have a great return % but so far they are steadily coming back
<< <i>Mike ... once again some really neat items! Best of luck with this project. How many "1st HR" cards do you have autographed? >>
Doug I have 1240+ HR responses
<< <i>Awesome pieces! Old school recomendations : Eddie Lebaron, Raymond Berry, John Siegal, Cecil "Cy" souders, Joe Schmidt the list gos on and on (: >>
GR Thanks for the recomendations

Hey Craig --- sent you a PM
Totally messed up the Carl Lee card -- left the info from another request
Jeff Saturday -- a Center and had his first during the palyoffs -- he answered some questions about it and I will post them soon.
Fantastic project, I love how you create the cards! Thought it'd be hard to top the 1st HR project, but the layout of the 1st TD project really gives it a run for it's money. Super awesome, can't wait to see the updates!

Messed up and spelled Karl Mecklenburg's name wrong

He's a good guy. He would've signed it even if you spelled it worse than that
Nice additions!

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
I thought I would share a couple of interesting responses --- was a very different time back then
<< <i>Cool as always. The YA Tittle was a nice pickup! And I like that extra pic that Mike Johnson of the Browns included. Thanks for sharing >>
+1 Tittle was great and you're VERY lucky to have gotten that. I recently read an article that he has increasingly worsening dementia. Probably long odds on getting that auto and no chance in the near future. Well done! I like this thread a lot.
This thread is awesome. Went through the whole thread tonight, it was like a history lesson. Love the letters from the players.
I am now a subscriber to this thread waiting for your next batch.
Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
