my favorite place, a house demo. insanely hard ground and lots of junk. only 1 silver and its mine.

    Bizarre... I replied on the first night but it didn't post. Nice find demo! Has some meat left. Was it found with a detector or sifting?

    Awesome! 2 feet of snow here still.
  • Detector find. The lot must have awesome days before I got there. I think I was first to detect it. They had machine that compresses the dirt and leaves it uneven, sheep foot? There is a school nearby that dates to the 1850's.
    I've been very lucky with seateds, have found over 60. Have never dug a bust or a us gold. Strange how things work like that. I have friends that have dug bust and gold coins near me. There are many people in our club who have never found anything from the 1800's. I think it comes down to experience and luck.

    Absolutely.... experience is important, without it one can miss things - with it makes finding good spots (research) easier. Luck is also important, one must 'walk over' the right areas.... Cheers, RickO
