Ok, folks, here it is. This card "books" for $350 in the SCD Catalog. I didn't quite go with a nuclear bid, but I did bid very high (at least for me). With my thinking, I gave myself a very good shot at winning. I bid $807 and I won it for $490+. That is on the high end of what I was expecting. I was expecting $400 to $500, but I also knew that if the right person was bidding, it could have went close to 4 figures. I'm glad it didn't. Anyway, it is headed my way! The wait will soon be over. The interesting thing is that I will be busting it out to go into my album as soon as I get it! The team set is now complete!

    Here it is!

Congrats Shane. I'm guessing you bought it because it had the CARDS ROOKIE card, right? If so, that's too bad they had to include YAZ on the card! LOL

    Enjoy!!!
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

    Congrats!

If not for that just as determined under bidder you could've had it for half the price.

Always nice to grab a must have at any price.

Unless other bids didn't go through because they were already beat. It happens.

Seeing an "autographed" Mickey Mantle SI magazine honoring The Mick's passing. I told the dealer "is that the issue after he died?" dealer looked at it "I dunno, doesn't say...but it's real" he points to a Coach's Corner COA. I say "that's top of the line! Would you take $450?"
Price sticker was $500. Dealer says "can't. It's just too rare"

jesus--should have waited 1 week. I just consigned a PSA-7 to PWCC. I finally upgraded my Yaz set to a PSA-8 and am moving the PSA-7.

You can always upgrade!!! Set to list this week--go for it!!

Manny, when do your consigned items go up for auction? And will they be on ebay or does PWCC have his own auction site?

The underbidder will be happy to see this if he is looking.

    Manny,

Did you debate putting up anything for sale here direct on CU to see if you could get your price?

In addition to my PSA-7 consigned to PWCC in this month's auction

I also have this one as part of my #2 4 in 1 set---

    image

Aconte--I have learned that putting it up for auction is vastly better for me than assigning a random # on these boards--

by way of example--I offered some vintage unopened on the BS forum last year and nothing was sold.

I consigned to PWCC and on some items got 50% MORE than I was asking on the BS board. Go figure
  • DanBessetteDanBessette Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭
Manny, are your items you consigned to PWCC up now? If so I just bid on a few.
  • flatfoot816flatfoot816 Posts: 2,194 ✭✭✭
yes about 55 Yaz cards--some nice stuff

Wow, guys. Check this auction out. The one on the upper left is a finalized proof, but it is not scored into 4 individual stickers like the final version. It would be considered a proof. Very interesting considering this thread.

I have a relative that made it to the pros...Charles Deal... in the 1910-20 era. I have his shoes, glove and bat but no card. I am still looking. There are only 9 different cards of him made. I have none.

Awesome pickup. Congrats! My wife always says she wants to "pooferate" my cards with perforations like this one. (mine are mostly the 80s-90s Tea Discs that I love so much.)

    Just Saw This

How does a 7 go for less than your 6 ?

    << <i>Just Saw This

I saw that. The answer to that question is simply this - that is my luck.

To top it off, I was the under bidder on the PSA 7. I bid $400 just because if I won it, I could just list it as a But It Now and make a few dollars once it sold eventually. So, if I had not bid so high, it could have went for much less. I think I would have rather won it and then have to sell it rather than it go for less than my PSA 6. That really stinks. I really thought it would go for $500 to $600.

Wasn't trying to rub salt in the wound. Just didn't make sense to me. One way you can look at it: since you cracked it out, the grade on the slab doesn't really matter.
